Unpredictable! That seems to be the word of the year. Mother Nature is unable to decide if it’s going to be sunny and warm, cloudy and cold or torrential rain storms. Even the weather forecasters are unable to “predict” correctly, so we almost have to have two changes of clothes with us whenever we venture out. Television shows – the good ones seem to get cancelled and the outcomes of the reality shows have not been what was “predicated”. American Idol was one of my family’s favorites. There was an uproar with David Cook winning over “Little David”, as we called him, which goes against what all the stats were saying.
The only thing that actually seems to be predictable is the rising prices of gasoline. I would love to do some time travel and go back to the days when I remember seeing $0.89 on the signs. So for many of our readers, I can only imagine how seeing gas over $4 a gallon is affecting your memory.
It would be so nice if you could take a few moments to write a little “story” about your good ol’ days and let us “young ones” know a little bit about your life – how much it was to go grocery shopping for the family, the cost of gas, the clean air, or actually walking to get somewhere; spending time with the family and talking instead of watching the television. We would love to get several of these types of stories from our readers to feature in one of the upcoming issues!
We do have one more predicable thing…we are sure that you will enjoy reading through this June issue of the paper! There are so many people that take time to write wonderful columns for you to read and enjoy. And remember, we’re always here and welcome your comments and suggestions. So, if there is something you want to say, let us hear it! Our ears are always open.
Until next month…
