ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Happy spring to you!  April showers will be bringing those May flowers sooner than we know.  What’s that you say…you can’t read through the entire paper right now because you’re busy with spring cleaning?  Come on, I know you can take a few moments to browse through all of the amazing information that our writers and advertisers have provided for you.  However, don’t just spring clean what you can see, make sure you’re cleaning up what you can’t see as well.  What does that mean?  It means that it’s time to put a little effort into our own lives, and make sure that everything is in order.  Maybe it’s time to move that money from one account to another, where it can grow more than it is currently.  Or perhaps it’s time to draft a plan for your future or your family’s future.  Who do you want to leave that china that you received for a wedding gift 60 years ago to?  What about the porcelain doll collection that you’ve had since you were 5 years old?  And the home that you built with your bare hands, to raise a warm and loving family?  Lastly, how about that small fortune (compared to the days of the Depression, large fortune) that you’ve worked so hard and long for to provide for that family you raised?

I know it’s a lot to think about, and not always the most pleasant thing to think about, but we do all need to plan for our future and the future of those we love.  In the news, you may be hearing about actor Heath Ledger, and how his family is fighting over his estate.  Wow, does that sound like a repeat of last year?  Do you remember the battle with Anna Nicole Smith and how long it took just to decide who gets to raise her beautiful baby girl.  Please do not forget that if you don’t plan now, your family will end up paying later.  Who would want their loved ones going through a drawn out and expensive process where a judge that did not even know them can determine who will get the wedding ring that was worn 75 years ago by their grandmother?  Personally, I know that I will be sure to have a plan in place so that my children and grandchildren can avoid this process.  How about you?

Would you like to learn more about the process of probate court?  Read through the newspaper a little further.  I guarantee you that there is an advertiser or article in almost every issue that can point you in the right direction on how to get further answers on how to show your loved ones just how much you care!

So clean out those cobwebs in your mind and make a fresh start in the fresh air and plan for what is inevitable in the future.  Don’t just Think Spring, but THINK!

Until next month…
